• New life is been breathed in to the Charter Fair (or Fayre) over the May Day bank holiday weekend. Starting with the a few scary fair rides in the Market Place, including a machine that spins you around faster than NASA followed by another fun ride that tries to launch you into space. People said it was fun.
  
  On Monday, Cathedral green has a simple open air concert featuring local bands and musicians, with a few stalls and some out door activities; e.g. a rock climbing wall for children. Market Place has the obligatory May pole for excellent demonstration in that British tradition and few stalls from charities.
  
  Great effort is made to offer a friendly, interesting and fun family day out with out costing a fortune. Everyone involved should be congratulated, well done.
